8-Bit Legend from Tee Fury

Today's Tee of the Day comes from TeeFury.

I couldn't pass this one up, having seen the story pop up a week or so ago.  I came upon this now authenticated urban legend a couple of years ago in a conglomeration of video game myths and legends in an online news article.  I was very intrigued at a number of them, though this one seemed entirely plausible given the reason for the dump.  I've played the E.T. game, and yeah, it is pretty tough.  My friend had a survival board game, I don't know what it was officialy called, but he and his family always called it "And Then You Die," because no matter how you played it, you took two to three turns, and then you die.  The Atari E.T. game was pretty much like that.  You wander around, turn white, and then you die.  About all you could do is stretch your neck and make a flower grow.  I thought that it was a hard game because I was just a little kid, but when I read about everyone hating the game and returning them, leaving Atari sitting on a million unsold copies, it made sense.  I never doubted this urban legend for a second, so it was no surprise to me that they dug them up this past month.  I was surprised however to hear that there were other games that were dug up as well.  Kind of cool.  You can read a little more about it on the TeeFury blog.

Now someone just needs to find a Polybius cabinet and I'll be really impressed.

Coldest in the Galaxy from TeeFury

As far as natural resources go, there are some systems that export better than others.  Tatooine has been single-handedly supplying the galaxy's sand boxes for quite some time.  Endor's moon has no end of redwoods for #2 pencils.  And then there's Hoth.

They finally wised up and realized that even though you might not want to munch on something cold while you’re there, there are other systems dying of thirst.  Now it they could work out some exclusivity deal with Tatooine and figure out logistics, they would be set.

Snowman Competition from TeeFury

I have always been a big fan of the Calvin & Hobbs mentality, "If you do a job badly enough, you may not get asked to do it again." Of course, that has nothing to do with Calvin's snowman making skills.  Try as I might, I have never been able to match them.  Well, Calvin, Disney has 1-uped you.  Sorry.  Be careful who you challenge to a snowman competition.

Yeah, Calvin, your minions have nothing on Marshmallow and Olaf.  Sorry.

Slapsgiving Slap Bet Commissioner

Today's Tee of the Day comes from Teefury.

I know that it's nowhere near Slapsgiving.  That's still 8 months away.  That doesn't mean that there won't be slap bets going down among your friends that you'll have to police.  So, Teefury hereby grants you the official position of Slap Bet Commissioner, handed down from the first official Commissioner, Lily Eriksen.

Ok, so maybe Lily from How I Met Your Mother isn't the first commissioner, nor is it really an official position.  But if your friends are in the common practice of making slap bets, then your safest bet is to hide behind the commissioner badge, for sure, and not just at Slapsgiving.
